I probably wouldn't mind Winnipeg as much, if it wasn't MINUS FREAKING 50 outside. JEEEEZZZZZZZ....
Well, as you can tell. Here I am in Winnipeg. Sitting in the YWAM house. Its actually a really nice house, considering it's a YWAM house and all.
Its been good to see my team, hang out with Jamie and Kim Arpin-Ricci (you can check out his blog, emergent voyagers), see old friends, see the adorable little DiFransesco boys and of course, their lovely parents. (click here to see pictures of them)
I also added a new person on my special list of links. Robby Mac. check him out. He used to be a vineyard pastor and is now working full time with YWAM and I think he's pretty cool.
And of course, our whole reason for coming, MisSioNs' FesT...dum dum dum.
Well its been interesting. Someone from another booth lectured us on why saying the word "crap" is so sinful. I guess you can say that us YWAM'ers stick out, we are the only booth with so many young people, and a person with blue hair. I haven't really felt like I've had any big meaningful conversations, more like just the usual "how much does this book cost" or "do you know peggy, she's my mum's sister's cousin's best friend's daughter and she was in YWAM in 1999 in the Philippines."
I always find it interesting to see what other missions groups are up too. I really was inspired by how much Wycliffe Bible Translators do. Man, what an amazing ministry they have!
And then of course, there was Steve Saint. I was sooo excited to hear what he had to say. I just always found his story, and his father's story (Nate Saint) so amazing. SO he spoke last night and it was pretty good. He mostly just talked about the story that we all know, and how that affected him as a little boy and what work he is doing with the tribe now. Pretty cool.
This is his movie and book that he was promoting below. Check it out if you get a chance!
